NIH fellowship and starting year 2

I was recently awarded the Biotechnology Training Program fellowship! It is an NIH T32 training grant awarded to Rutgers University, and a few students from Rutgers are selected each year for the program. I’ll be funded for the next two years, complete an industry internship, and attend classes with other students in the program.

Last month, I had so much fun attending Summer RosettaCon 2026! I got to present my work (HaloMPNN) as a poster and meet dozens of amazing scientists. I also went hiking in the beautiful area around Seattle. Unfortunately I got sick the week after, but fortunately AI is going to cure all disease pretty soon.

I’ll spend my second year (starting now!) doing research, finishing up coursework, and looking for an internship for the summer. I’m feeling optimistic and excited to see where my research takes me.
